Paleo Cereal!

Let's face it...we all miss something! Whether it be Nachos, Doritos tacos, beer, peanut butter. Well I miss cereal (esp Honey nut cheerios). But a few months ago I went on a road trip with Mrs. Tiffany Phelps and she introduced me to a wonderful new kind of cereal. This is what you will  need:
 Grab a bowl.  In the bowl add a little bit of canned coconut milk (depends on how much you want)...I usually do about 1/4 cup. Add a large hand full of blueberries. Then add 1/4 cup of slivered almonds and a 1/4 cup coconut chips.  (You can now buy the bigger chips at Wegmans. If you can't find them...then shredded coconut is fine.) Sometimes I add cinnamon..sometimes I don't. (depends on my mood).
And it ends up looking like this...
I tell you...I love it. It gives you the crunch...the sweetness...it makes me feel like I am having cereal. It just makes me happy!
 So what are you missing? Maybe someone can help you find a paleo substitute that you might like even better.

  2. I was away and just started my paleo journey and am catching up on the blogs, or what I like to think of as my on-line support group. One thing I am not enjoying right now is the GI "adjustment". Let's just call it that. I am hoping it will calm in the next few days.

  3. had a slice of pizia for lunch so theirs my cheat meal wod for the day 1 mile run and then 21-15-9 of burpees,push-ups and air squats

  4. Diet not so good today, Chicken broth, cracker's and diet gingerale, did get a WOD in this morning before the sickness hit, hoping it's a 24hr thing.

  6. No sleep last night + a crappy day of Paleo eating = Terrible WOD with 100# KB and burpees for Jeremy. Today sucked. J. Eck out..........

  7. Food in check, did have rice with Mahi Mahi for dinner. Drank lots of water today, probably my best day yet! I'm so looking forward to coming to the wod tomorrow morning... I have totally missed you guys this week! Cereal looks great, gonna try it this week.

  8. Well, I did it - I have officially made it though the 21 Day Sugar Detox. And I have to say that the one thing I missed the most was the blueberry "cereal" pictured above! I am planning to add that back into my diet (first thing tomorrow!), but other than that I think I am still going to try to stay away from the "treats" for awhile. This hasn't been nearly as bad as I thought it would be, and I figure the longer I can go without, the easier it will get. Did the wod this morning.

  9. Not a bad day. Felt pretty good with the wod today--I finally did a wod with 35lb kettlebell and got it over my head! Eating is going pretty good and I'm drinking plenty of water and taking my fish oil pills. Won't be at the gym in the am--gotta' be a soccer mom!

Went out in a date tonight had dinner at Poncho villa and i planned on cheating alot more than i actually did but my husband was there to slap the tortilla chips out of my hand....lol My meal was mostly paleo friendly except for the rice and cheese which are my sanity items, but the margaritias were my real cheat and they were freaking awesome . No dessert for me :-( I am proud of myself for making better decisions but. I am really thankful for having my amazing husband here to keep me on track and putting up with my mood swings. made the wod today life is good

  14. Had my second cheat meal for dinner tonight. Was strict paleo all day prior to my epic meal. Wod at 5:30 but struggled a bit since I only got 4 hrs of sleep the night before. Exhaustion and crossfit do not mix well.

  15. No WOD today, had dinner out with family and ate some potatoes, I didn't drink enough water today, I am struggling with that. I have had more cheats than I would like, but this has made me more aware of the choices I am making. Looking forward to the WOD in the morning......Donna

  16. Thanks for the cereal recommendation. I will definately be preparing some this week. The egg cups are getting old after the 2nd week. I did do almond milk yogurt and fruit one morning which was a nice change-up. WOD was good today! thanks for all the great programing Kent. It's kicking my a#@ (in a good way).
